Elegant Summer Wedding at Saint Clements Castle
A Joyful Celebration Full of Heart & Laughter
Nate and Lindsey's summer wedding day unfolded beautifully from start to finish, filled with genuine emotion, easy chemistry, and a lot of laughing. With perfect weather and a relaxed pace, their celebration felt both elegant and deeply personal.
From quiet getting-ready moments to a lively castle reception, their day flowed naturally, leaving room for connection, emotion and celebration.
A Meaningful Start: Getting Ready & a First Look with Dad
The day began at Lindsey's home, where she got ready alongside her bridesmaids. I was there. My second photographer was across town with Nate, which is the only way both halves of a morning ever get covered properly.
Two gifts changed hands before anyone left the house. Nate sent Lindsey earrings and a card. Lindsey sent Nate a watch and a card, and there's a frame of him sitting by a window reading it.
Her dad gave her a small blue box on the couch before the dress went on. Inside were two charms: one with their names and the wedding date, the other a note from him, small enough that you have to get close to read it. Both of them ended up hanging off her bouquet for the rest of the day, which is why that bouquet turns up in more frames than a bouquet usually would.
Then the dress, and then the first look with her dad, which is the one moment of the morning nobody has to be told to be quiet for.
A Classic Church Ceremony in Middletown
From there, everyone gathered at St. Sebastian Church for the ceremony. This church is one of my favorites. Grand in scale, but bright and welcoming inside, with enough natural light that you can work without fighting it.
Nate and Lindsey exchanged vows surrounded by family and friends, creating a ceremony that felt rooted in tradition. The openness of the space allowed moments to unfold naturally, without distraction, keeping the focus exactly where it belonged.
They had a car and a driver for the twenty minutes between the church and the castle. It went nowhere else. That is worth knowing if you are pricing one: you are not renting a day of transport, you are renting the gap, and the gap is where a handful of the best frames of the day happen because it is the only stretch where nobody can reach you.
Castle Elegance & an Unforgettable Reception
Portraits happened in the sunken garden, which belongs to the Prince Edward Ballroom and was that side of the castle's ceremony site before they built the riverfront space. It did not exist yet in 2022. Then the reception, in the Prince Edward itself. As the largest space at the castle, it offered plenty of room for guests to celebrate comfortably, and to dance the night away.
From heartfelt toasts to packed dance floors, the evening was filled with joy and energy. The ballroom's elegance paired perfectly with the relaxed, fun-loving atmosphere Nate and Lindsey brought to the day.
A Celebration That Felt Effortless
What stood out most about Nate and Lindsey's wedding was how natural everything felt. Their connection, the support from their families, and the way the day unfolded without feeling rushed created an experience that was both refined and joyful.
Whether photographing castle weddings in the Northeast or coastal celebrations in Florida, the heart of a great wedding remains the same: meaningful moments, thoughtful pacing, and couples who truly enjoy being present.
