Board Games, Greenhouses & Big Laughs: A Playful Engagement Session at Edgerton Park
When Personality Leads the Way
There’s a special kind of magic that happens when couples bring their real personalities into their engagement session, and Jenya and Matt did exactly that. Their session was relaxed, playful, and full of genuine laughter, the kind that happens when you stop trying to perform and just show up as yourselves.
Set against the lush backdrops of Edgerton Park, this engagement session blended classic garden scenery with moments that felt completely personal. From wandering past the historic greenhouse to sitting down for a board game mid-session, Jenya and Matt leaned fully into what makes their relationship theirs.
This focus on comfort, connection, and authenticity is the same approach I bring to engagement sessions and weddings throughout Florida today.
Greenhouse Light & Easy Moments
We began the session near the park’s iconic greenhouse, where soft light filters through the glass and creates a calm, elevated garden feel. It’s the kind of setting that naturally invites couples to slow down and settle in.
Jenya and Matt didn’t need much time to warm up. Their outfits felt effortless and true to them, and we focused on relaxed, candid moments that allowed their connection to come through naturally rather than forcing poses.
Brick Stables, Board Games & Real Connection
From there, we wandered toward the old brick stables. With arched doorways and textured walls, the space felt timeless and a little cinematic, but still grounded and approachable.
Then came one of my favorite moments of the entire session. Jenya and Matt pulled out one of their favorite board games, laid out a blanket, and jumped into a playful, competitive round right there in the park. No pressure, no expectations, just the two of them doing something they genuinely love together.
These are the moments that elevate an engagement session. The laughter, the inside jokes, the small habits that make a relationship feel alive. Those details are what turn photos into something personal and meaningful.
Why Engagement Sessions Are About More Than Photos
Engagement sessions aren’t just about creating images for save-the-dates or wedding websites. They’re a chance to slow down, reconnect, and document who you are together before the pace of wedding planning takes over.
They’re also an important way for us to build trust. By the time the wedding day arrives, you’re already comfortable in front of the camera and comfortable with me. That ease makes all the difference when real, emotional moments start unfolding.
From Garden Paths to Florida Light
While this session took place in New England, the approach behind it is exactly how I photograph couples today across Sarasota and Florida’s Gulf Coast. I focus on connection over perfection and moments over poses.
Whether that looks like a beach session in Siesta Key, a downtown Sarasota date-night vibe, or something completely off the beaten path, the goal is always the same. I want your photos to feel like you, not a version of you performing for the camera.
Let’s Create Something That Feels Like You
If you’re planning a wedding or engagement session in Sarasota or anywhere along Florida’s Gulf Coast and want photographs that feel relaxed, personal, and genuinely fun, I’d love to connect.
Bring your personalities. Bring your favorite traditions. And yes, if you have a favorite board game, bring that too.
